Since 2014, Ribs n Kabobs has been known for warm hospitality and unforgettable food. Backed by a talented team of cooks with over a decade of culinary experience, we’ve expanded the joy of our BBQ to birthdays, weddings, private events, and local gatherings—making us a favorite halal BBQ destination in Southern California.

At Ribs N Kabobs, our story is more than food—it’s family, tradition, and love. This journey began with Mom, Abeda Bibi Shaikh, whose passion for cooking started as the eldest of nine siblings. She learned recipes and flavors passed down from her grandmother, mother, and uncle, and spent countless hours cooking alongside her father for big family gatherings.

Being part of such a large family meant food was not only nourishment but a way to unite people, share love, and keep traditions alive. After her marriage into another large family of eight siblings, her cooking experience expanded even further. She became the one who prepared meals for big gatherings, celebrations, and everyday family life. Her hands carried the knowledge of generations, and her cooking carried the warmth of home.

When she and her family arrived in the US, things started small. She and her son worked on little projects—like preparing samosas at home—that slowly grew into something bigger. Every new dish, every new catering project, was a step closer to a bigger dream. By 2014, after years of hard work and dedication, that dream took shape with the founding of Ribs N Kabobs. Even today, Mom pours her heart and love into every dish we prepare.

Her presence in the kitchen is not just about cooking—it’s about ensuring every customer feels the same warmth and care that she has always given her own family. For Yaseer Shaikh, the love for food began very young, standing beside his Nana (maternal grandfather) who prepared traditional wedding foods in their village. He learned not just how to cook, but how to handle large utensils, control the fire, and respect the process.

Growing up in two large families, he had the unique gift of learning from both his grandmothers, who each carried deep culinary knowledge. From these experiences, Yaseer gained an unmatched education in flavors, traditions, and the art of preparing food for gatherings of all sizes.As he grew older, his friends quickly noticed his passion. What started as helping at family meals soon turned into taking over weekend gatherings.

Cooking wasn’t just a skill; it was his way of connecting with people and creating memories. When he arrived in the US in 1999, Yaseer considered a professional culinary career. However, due to the prevalence of pork and alcohol in the industry, he decided to take a different path—one that aligned with his values. He began experimenting with smoking and grilling, learning from a new circle of culinary friends, and once again became the go-to cook for every family BBQ.

Behind all of this, there was also the quiet, unwavering support of Yaseer’s father. His passion wasn’t just in the food, but in supporting his wife and son’s vision. He dedicated himself to helping in any way he could—ensuring the dream of Ribs N Kabobs would become reality. He passed away doing what he loved most: supporting his family and this operation. His legacy lives on in every plate we serve.

The idea for Ribs N Kabobs first came to life in 2008. After years of testing, learning, and refining, we officially opened our doors to the public in 2015. Since then, every item on our menu has been carefully developed, tested, and perfected before reaching our customers. Our team is not just about cooking—it’s about innovation.
