Ribs 'n' Kabobs caters halal office lunches, meetings and company parties for teams across Los Angeles County and Orange County from its kitchen in Artesia. You can order individual Express Lunch Bowls, Lunch Kabob Plates and Lunch Taco Plates for each person, or a buffet of smoked ribs, kabobs and sides for the whole floor, with at least 24 hours notice.
This post covers what is on the lunch menu, how individual plates and buffets work, how to place an order, and where we deliver. It is written for the office manager, the executive assistant or the team lead who has been told to find lunch for Thursday and wants it done in one call.
Why order halal for a work lunch?
Because then nobody has to ask. A halal order means your Muslim colleagues can eat without checking labels, and everyone else gets the same ribs, kabobs and rice they would have ordered anyway. Everything at Ribs 'n' Kabobs is hand-slaughtered, 100% Zabiha Halal and certified by HFSAA, with no pork and no alcohol on site, so the whole order is covered, not just one tray. The certification standard is published at hfsaa.org.
It also solves the what-do-we-get problem. American BBQ and Pakistani grill on the same menu means the half of the team that wants ribs and the half that wants kabobs order from the same place, and anyone skipping meat gets hummus, naan, a green salad and sides from the same trays.
What is on the lunch menu?
Three items are built for the workday:
- Express Lunch Bowl. The quickest of the three: one bowl, easy to eat at a desk or in a meeting room, nothing to carve.
- Lunch Kabob Plate. Kabob from the lava rock grill with sides, sized for lunch rather than dinner.
- Lunch Taco Plate. Our tacos, lunch-sized. The one for a team that wants something casual.
For current contents and options see the menu. Beyond the lunch items, most of the regular menu travels well for a group: Back Ribs and Short Ribs, Beef Seekh Kabob, Chicken Malai Kabob, Chicken Tandoori Boti, Chicken Biryani, wings and samosas by the tray.
Individual plates or a buffet?
Both work, and the choice usually comes down to headcount and the room.
| Individual plates | Buffet | |
|---|---|---|
| Best for | Meetings, training days, teams eating at staggered times | Floor-wide lunches, celebrations, roughly 20 or more people |
| Setup | None; hand them out | A table for trays, serving spoons and plates |
| Ordering | Each person picks a lunch item | You pick a mix of proteins and sides |
| Dietary notes | Easy; label the plate | Keep spicy and mild trays separate |
Individual plates suit a meeting where people eat at their seats. A buffet suits a break room with a long table and a team that likes to go back for seconds. For a mixed order, say a buffet of ribs and kabobs plus a few individual plates for people stuck in back-to-back calls, just ask.
How do you order an office lunch, step by step?
- Count heads. Include remote staff who are coming in that day. Round up by a couple.
- Pick the format. Individual plates, a buffet, or both.
- Pick the food. For plates, send us a tally of Express Lunch Bowls, Lunch Kabob Plates and Lunch Taco Plates. For a buffet, choose two or three proteins and two or three sides; basmati rice, naan, BBQ beans, green salad and grilled corn are the usual mix.
- Flag dietary notes. Spice levels, no beef, nut allergies, vegetarian plates. The whole menu is halal, so that part is already handled.
- Give us the address, the floor and the time. Tell us if the building has a loading dock, a security desk or a parking rule for deliveries.
- Ask about plates and cutlery. Ask whether they can be added to the order, or plan to supply your own.
- Order at least 24 hours ahead. For a company party or a large buffet, more notice helps, and for a big event we ask for 4 to 6 weeks.
Send it all through the contact page or call. We confirm the details and send a quote.
Where do you deliver office lunches?
Our regular catering delivery area covers Artesia, Cerritos, Norwalk, Lakewood, Paramount, La Palma, Hawaiian Gardens, Bellflower, Buena Park, Cypress, La Mirada, Downey, Los Alamitos, South Whittier, Rossmoor, Santa Fe Springs and Stanton. Offices in Cerritos, Norwalk, Downey and Buena Park are a few minutes from the restaurant, which keeps delivery timing simple.
For offices in Anaheim or Irvine, ask about delivery. Those cities sit outside the regular delivery list, so raise it when you book; a delivery minimum may apply, and pickup from Artesia is always available for an office with a car and a willing volunteer.
There is no minimum order to book catering, so a six-person lunch is as welcome as a sixty-person one.
What about bigger company events?
Office lunches are the everyday version. For a holiday party, an all-hands, a client dinner or a company picnic, the same kitchen does buffets, plated service and live BBQ stations with onsite grilling, and we have handled events of 200 or more guests. The catering page lists the options, and our guide to planning a halal catered event in Orange County and Long Beach walks through the steps. If a colleague is getting married, our guide to catering a Pakistani wedding in California covers the bigger version.
